I have an AMD 3.1gig quad core, 16gigs 1300meg? ram. great system.
A week ago I tried to uninstall an unwanted app., since then win7 opens up normally. When I try to open ANY app. get error message saying the app. cannot open due to (0xc0000005).

When I say nothing opens I mean nothing, no uninstall no browser, nothing.

Thank you all for any & all help!

What "unwanted" app did you uninstall ?
Do you have any restore points before this error started ?

    Uninstalled pgm.

I honestly do not remember the app. I uninstalled. Yes I have tried going to a restore point before the lockup; system restore fails every time. Am totally frustrated & have installed a new HDD, just to get machine running again. I edit video (have a one man video production business) & cannot afford to lose all of the info. on that disc.

Do you have a Windows 7 installation disc? If so, you can try Option Two on this tutorial

    System Restore

OR, you can try in Safe Mode

    Safe Mode

Or from Safe Mode with Command Prompt

    From the command prompt type

    rstrui.exe

    Enter

If no help, you can also try then System File checker via these methods

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
