Hi, I could do with some help on this one. I have Adobe Flashplayer 13 Active X ver 13.0.0.26 installed on my Sony vaio 32 Bit laptop .

Thing is, although installed it will not initiate, when I attempt to use the player i.e. play a video it say's download the latest FlashPlayer which I already have.

Is there a way to start the FlashPlayer ???? help appreciated.

Try uninstalling Flashplayer using the uninstaller from here http://download.macromedia.com/get/f...ash_player.exe and re-install FlashPlayer, see if that fixes things for you. Adobe - Install Adobe Flash Player
Reboot pc after uninstalling and reboot after installing.

    Hi,
    Along with BrightBlessings advice,
    Make sure flash is enabled,

Make sure your set to show all add-ons,

Also make sure None of these symbols are Blue,

Thank you both for your answers unfortunately it still does not work.
One thing I have noticed - in msconfig under services 'adobe flash player update service is 'Stopped' is this correct.
If not how do I restart it and should it be set to 'automatic'.

It should show "Started". It's normally set to Automatic but I set mine to Automatic, Delayed Start just to keep boot activities down. To change the startup type, click on Administrative Tools in the control panel. Double click Computer Management. In the left pane, expand Services and Applications then click on Services. Locate the Adobe Update Service, right click on it and select Properties. Use the drop-down next to Start Type to select the new start type. If it already says Automatic, there's a problem with the install.

Forgot to mention: You can also start the service from the properties window. Use the Start button below where it says Service Status.
