Sounds like a hLCD or GPU problem, try plugging the laptop into an external monitor or TV, if the screen shows there then we knows it LCD related. If the LCD trick worked, do some light gaming and see if the dots appear. Also if the external monitor worked, it may be a good idea to have a look at the display settings.

Also was your laptop hot before this happened? The heat of my old laptop, damaged the screen.

Yes my laptop was hot,and then I connected to external monitor as you said and it did show on the external monitor, and then the green lines started to appear again and then it straight showed black screen and started showing input not supported.
Does this mean my ATi RADEON HD 5470 is gone? And is it worth to service the laptop?or should I get a new one? This one suffered a major damage 2 months back, and now this.

Yes possibly GPU Related. Unfortunately you cant replace a Graphics card in a laptop, as its integrated. Meaning you would have to buy a new motherboard.

When you boot up the laptop what does the screen show?

Thats a decision your going to have to make, if you do decide to buy a new laptop your data will not be lost though.
