    HELP? Cannot uninstall programs


    hello, i am in need of help, everytime i click uninstall a program this happens,

    please help me, i need to remove programs.

    Hello Kieron, and welcome to Seven Forums.

    You should be able to do a system restore using a restore point dated before this started happening to undo and fix it. :)

    all the restore points i have do not remove this error? any other ideas?

    In that case, see if downloading and merging the .reg file for the listed .cpl option in the tutorial below may be able to help. It will restore the default associations for control panel items.

    As a test, see if you are able to open "Programs and Features" using the shortcut below.

    Programs and Features - Create Shortcut

    I would also recommend to do a full scan of your system with an AV program (ex: Malwarebytes Free) just to be safe.

    Ok. See if also using the .dll option may help then.

    In that case, create a new user account for yourself, log in to it, and see if the same error happens.

    If not, then you could use the new account instead if you like.
