Github crashing while trying to install
Hello,
Firstly, I apologize in advance if I posted this in the wrong section. Yesterday I installed the application github from the original source (https://windows.github.com) I installed it yesterday and it was working fine. But today it didn't seem to open. It kept crashing whenever I tried to open it. Here is a picture of the crash: ![]() I went to "Program and features" and uninstalled the program. I restarted my computer and downloaded the file again to install. But this time even when I click the .exe file nothing happens. I tried deleting and downloading the file and restarting my computer numerous times but nothing seems to work. But what is interesting is that I created a new account on my computer and I tried downloading and installing GitHub on that user and it worked. I don't understand why though. But the problem is that it is only installed on that user for some reason. I can't get it to be installed for all users (Shouldn't even be possible because of security reasons of the software). Any suggestions anyone can make on how I can fix this? It is the first time I have seen this type of thing happen. Thanks a bunch! :) |

Hello there mate!
You could check the Event Viewer (Windows Log -> Application) and check for any error especially the time stamp matches the time of install. Since it's works fine on a new User profile it's hard to pin point the issue. Let's run a security scan using Malwarebytes just to be sure. |
