i'm looking to accomplish a particular task.

when my bf gets home, he usually doesn't call to let me know he's arrived safely. is there any kind of software or app i can install on my home desktop, so that whenever someone (him) uses it at all, it will send me an email or sms or other notification to my smartphone? the desktop is wired to the internet, and i have data on my phone so i'm always online too. i just need to figure how to make that notification occur?

    thanks!!

    Sounds creepy but yes.

Windows has a built in Task Scheduler that will send a SMTP email; However, it requires your ISP or mail handler to allow the SMTP message(s). You also have to have SMTP turned on in Windows features. The link below shows the setup and an alternative "program" you would schedule with parameters.

Maybe installed Skype on both the PC and your phone, and you both have different accounts, and both have each as contacts. Then setting skype to start auto when computer starts. Then you'll see him come 'online' when he turns the PC on. But won't work if he uses the same skype on his fone or other device.

Dont worry, my hubby just as useless too
