    Laptop wont install JNLP file

My lenovo laptop wont install JNLP files

When I double click on the file I get an error message saying that it cannot find the application.

    Any ideas?

Apologies if this is in the wrong section of the forum.

Welcome to Seven Forums uberslug. JNPL files should be associated with Java, and open with Java Web Start. Try this:

Start> In search box type default programs> Enter> Associate a file type or protocol with a program> Scroll down the list of extensions and choose JNLP from the list> Click the Change program button> When the Open With window opens, click the Browse button> Navigate to the Java folder> Double click the most current jre folder (if there is more then one)> Double click the bin folder> Double click javaws> OK your way out

JNLP files should now open by default with Java Web Start

P.S. If you have older versions in the jre folder, they can be a security risk. You can remove them via JavaRa> Additional tasks. Or via the command line. I suggest you only use the Legacy Version 1.1.6. It has the additional tasks, and is a better, lighter version IMHO

    C:\Program Files\Java\jdk*\bin
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre*\bin
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk*\bin
