Looking for a Scan to Email application

I've recently installed a couple of new HP inkjet printers on Windows 7 machines, and for unknown reasons the scan to email feature does not work. Windows Live Mail is installed on both machines and set as the default mail application. Right clicking on a file and selecting "send to mail recipient" works perfectly, however the HP scan software gives an error saying that no email application is installed. I've Googled the problem and have found a number of discussions about it, but there is no solution so I'm looking for a third party scanning app with this functionality. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Well, after posting I found a freeware that does the job. It's called NAPS2 (Not Another Pdf Scanner 2). It has an email option that opens a message window in the default email application - it just works Here's a link in case someone is interested.

Nice post. I had used Dynamic Web TWAINto send the scanning page via emails, it also worked. I followed the instruction from Knowledge Base :: How to email an uploaded image using C# . But your suggestion is great. I will try out yours to check the difference.
