    Check your AV settings.

    1. I had to turn Kaspersky off
    2. Copy the CS3 to a local folder
    3. Grant my admin account full access to that folder
    4. Install as Admin.
Only PS and DW works (same thing that happens with CS4, InDesing doesn't even opens, Illustrator and flash hang on splashscreen)

New computer with Win 7 Pro - CS3 won't run

I just bought a new computer that sounded perfect for my graphic design business (tons of hard drive space and 8GB Ram). However, I'm having one heck of a time getting Adobe CS3 to play nice. The software will install, but most of the programs fail to open. They show up in my task manager, though. Photoshop is the only one that attempts to open...the main screen shows, but then it hands and eventually quits.

So I uninstalled it and reinstalled it using Windows XP Mode. Now it runs fine.

    more info to last post

While my CS3 runs run in WinXP mode, it's a pain in the ass....I find that I'm going to have to load all my fonts, etc. in win xp mode even though they are installed in Win7.

I'm finding that most people that get CS3 to install successfully seem to be running in 32-bit. I'm in 64-bit and haven't been able to run anything but Microsoft software (the suckers!).

Did you do anything in particular when installing it? What kind of machine do you have? Mine is brand spanking new and came with Win 7 Home 64-bit (but I upgraded to the Pro version).

I did not need any special procedures for this software.
My system is listed under the my systems tab shortcut at the bottom left of the posts window. It is a purpose built machine.
