I just bought a new computer that sounded perfect for my graphic design business (tons of hard drive space and 8GB Ram). However, I'm having one heck of a time getting Adobe CS3 to play nice. The software will install, but most of the programs fail to open. They show up in my task manager, though. Photoshop is the only one that attempts to open...the main screen shows, but then it hands and eventually quits.
So I uninstalled it and reinstalled it using Windows XP Mode. Now it runs fine.
While my CS3 runs run in WinXP mode, it's a pain in the ass....I find that I'm going to have to load all my fonts, etc. in win xp mode even though they are installed in Win7.
I'm finding that most people that get CS3 to install successfully seem to be running in 32-bit. I'm in 64-bit and haven't been able to run anything but Microsoft software (the suckers!).
CS3 works accross the board with 64 bit for me.
