    .pdf To WORD ?

    Hello,

Anyone know of a free .pdf to WORD translation program ?

Found several, but they all are a bit costly, or have a limited trial period.

Any simple, free, unlimited ones out there ?

    Thanks,
    Bob

Have you tried opening word then when its up go to open then try to open your pdf. Word will attempt to convert it for you if you have 2010-2013.

After testing with my libre office portable for in the field on other pc's if you open libre office and try to open a pdf it seems to understand it and convert it then if you save from there as the .docx or .doc extension your probably good. you should see how it fares for you. Home | LibreOffice - Free Office Suite - Fun Project - Fantastic People If you don't want to install it as full suite that takes over your extensions ect. You can try the version that's on my pen drive and it will install it to whatever folder you run it in. From OP: Works, Sort Of, But Still An "Image" ?

    Hi All,

    What a great Forum.
Thanks so much for the help.

Tried the free Download Converter as suggested, and, yes, it does seem to work.
    But,

I guess this shows my ignorance of .pdf files, etc.

After the conversion, and saved as a docx (or doc ?), I see it now with the typical WORD
    background and screen.

But, it seems to show up as just an "image" there.
Still won't let me copy or change text, etc.
Just the original .pdf seems to show up now against the WORD background.

So, what am I missing ?

Is this the best any Converter will do ?
I would like to edit the original .pdf document, but can't to an "image" appearing in WORD now..

What am I missing, please ?
Any way of doing what I want to this now "converted" document ?

Should I try converting it to some other format, perhaps ?
    Or,... ?

    Thanks again,
    Bob

If the web method is just making it an image that word can use then you might want to try the libre portable method as my tests have made it into actual text that I can edit.
