Just a thought, but there is a FULL online version of turbo tax you can use to do your taxes..that way you can bypass the install and get your taxes done at the same time.

Do you see anywhere on the box that says its combatable with windows 7? It's not, it wasn't made with Windows 7 in mind. If it works great!! If not use the online product and return the program to Turbo Tax.

I guess you don't read very well..

I think I specifically said that there was a FULL ONLINE VERSION , that would imply that it is not installed, but rather a web application that can be had from any computer that has a web browser and connection to the internet. In my field that's called a work-around. I know it's not ideal, but I've tried it out and it works fine, no need to install. I just know how frustrating it can be not to have your tax software working at tax time so I provided this solution.

I'm really thinking more of a solution here then to get stuck on the problem.
    A) you use turbo tax
    B) it's tax time.
    C) you can't get your taxes done cause it won't install on your beta win7.
    D) find a solution (so you can complete your taxes...hopefully using turbo tax)
    E) use the turbo tax web application to solve the immediate problem.
    F) next year turbo tax will run and install on win7 and everything will be peachy.

    TurboTax and Win 7

I had the same problem with TT 08 and 09 on my Win 7 64 bit new PC.
Not sure it will help but here is how I got them going.
First I use TT deluxe which I download from TRowePrice who provides them for clients.
TT09 installed fine. When I installed my old TT08, problems hit. it installed but failed to launch giving error messages saying uninstall and start over. Using Control Panel I uninstalled but it failed to response. Somehow I found my way to TT uninstall and it did what Win 7 CP could not do.
But now TT09 wont launch .. same error messages and Win 7 would not uninstall. Again I used TT uninstall and it was gone.
TT support says download the TTinstallprogram, place disck in CD drive and run this program from desktop. That did not work because I don't have a CD, just the DL programs.
Everything is now working fine since I did this:

I went back to TRowePrice and they let me on the TT download site where I have my TT account thanks to them. I downloaded the very latest TT08 and 09 software. (they come in one large exe file).

I launched each of these and they are now operating fine. Both updated via TT website. The 08 loaded my California program just fine.

I think TT is a 32 bit program. However, TT installs both under Programs(64)/TurboTax.

I found it odd that Win 7 froze when I tried to unstall the TT programs.

The lesson for me was to make sure all old programs are completely removed and the install programs were the latest versions from Intuit.
