Are your archives damaged? Can other people open them?

WinRAR can sometimes register itself to open .jar and .iso files, although this depends on the user setting it up incorrectly - so maybe it had painted it's icon onto one of these file types... which then refused to open...

Under WinRAR's Tools menu is an option to repair archives.

Alt + R is the shortcut.

Surely that's the first thing to attempt, or otherwise to look to your archives for a back-up of the damaged material.
