Creating a wizard based Windows ima

I am looking for a way to configure a Windows image, that is installed via a wizard.. with a standard basic programs.. and optional others.. and the most important, and a prompt in the wizard to specify computer name..

To make it more clear:
Operating System: Windows7 Ultimate SP1 32-Bit
Applications that are always installed: Acrobat reader, Winrar, Java Runtime, Flash Player, Microsoft Intune.. etc
Applications am prompted to install during wizard: CCleaner, Teamviewer,... etc
and a step in the wizard SHOULD include computer name

What program would be my best bet?

This is not a simple process. You need to read up on the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) as you will have to install that in order to create the ISO file used to deploy Win7.

You will also have to deal with Activation on each of the deployed machines, as (unless you are dealing with a legitimate VLK here), you will need a separate key for each machine installed.

And finally, this does not yield the "wizard" you want -- but there may be post-deployment options available in MDT 2010 that you can use to achieve this.

Also ... there are other ways of accomplishing deployment including Sysprep, but they too require a lot of work.

Thanks for the reply..

Actually I ended up with WinPE, Sysprep and ImageX approach you mentioned.. does the trick for me..

I preferred something that would prompt me for the apps to be installed, but I ended up installing most of the required apps.. and then would install the rest or uninstall them..
