    Odd Photoshop CS2 behavior

Everytime I start the program, a screen inviting me to register pops up and another attempting to download updates.

After much work, I was able to banish the first one but not the second one. As a result, I am running Photoshop CS2 in XP Mode only.

You have spyware on your computer, just download a anti spyware program like spybot and it will remove it.

It was fresh install of Windows 7 RC, and the popups are certainly from Adobe. They were meant for Windows XP. I googled it and find other people with the same problem.

    Run photoshop as administrator.

Run photoshop as administrator. When the registration dialog pops up either register it or tell it to not register it. Exit app. Re run. Problem should go away.

Good idea. That fixed the registration window but not the annoying update pop-up screen.

But you shouldn't see it again the next time you start it up

It still comes up. Have you had success making it go away?

Yes, I selected the property Run as Administrator (maybe I also selected it to run in XP Sp3 mode too). Both of these settings were in the compatibility tab when you right click the executable (photoshop.exe) ad select Properties.

The next time you try this do me a favor and open an image in PS and goto File menu Page Setup and notice that the Printers button is missing. This is frustrating me. Good luck.

No Printer Button in CS2 print manager-page setup

Did you solve the problem of no printers button? How?

No, I installed CS2 on my son's Windows XP machine and print from there, I never could get the correct drivers for Windows 7, very disappointing since my Win 7 machine has awesome 10,000 rpm disks.
