Looking for a bandwidth monitoring software

Hi, im getting very annoyed sometimes when a certain family member takes up all of the bandwidth with their laptop or phone so im looking for a program that will let me see the download/upload speeds of devices connected to the network so i can yell at that person to stop or maybe a program that even lets me throttle their speeds to reasonable levels. My modem config page doesnt offer anything regarding bandwidth. It would be great if there was some kind of software that i can install on their PC and then log into some kind of web interface that lets me see the speeds or maybe even throttle them. Anyone know of something like this? Thanks

Networx will monitor internet usage rates. I just use it for myself but it appears it also can monitor individual users. I don't know of anything that can be used to throttle usage unless your router provides that feature.

I think Glasswire can also be helpful to generally monitor 'net [just make sure built-in firewall is off]. In order to be able to temporarily deny access and/or to restrict bandwidth usage, one will have to use something like LanSchool [used in many school districts] -- which although works well! co$t$ very well also.

@ OP. If you do try Glasswire, please report back on how it works for you. I've been looking at that one.

Ive installed Glasswire and it seems alright for what i need. Mainly it just logs traffic usage and then gives you options to display it in cute graphs and tables, so if you need a simple bandwidth monitor this is great. The firewall aspect of it is just a speed monitor with the option to block an app from using internet. And it can do all of the same for 1 remote computer in addition to your local computer (btw that required fiddling around with windows firewall inbound connection to work). Its simple and pretty but limited in the eyes of someone who wants more functionality. For now im ok with using the remote option to see the speeds of a laptop in my house. Thanks.

Edit: oh and i already use Netbalancer / Netlimiter to throttle my own pc internet speeds (someone mentioned that they dont know a tool that can do that?) but it would be nice to be able to do that for remote computers.

You are going to need a piece of hardware sitting between your Internet and your devices connecting to it. Dozen different systems you can employ just need a little research.
