Screensaver and Monitor Auto-Shut Off Don't Turn On

So I normally leave my computer on 24/7 and I noticed after waking up the past couple of days it hasn't turned the monitor off or even went to screensaver like it normally would do after 10 minutes and 5 minutes respectively like I set it to do. After searching Google for several minutes I couldn't find a solution that worked. I also noticed my Starry Night screensaver that doesn't come with Windows 7 was mysteriously gone from the list and I had to reinstall it.

Anyway I can get it to activate by pressing the preview button for the screensaver and I can press the appropriate buttons on my keyboard to make the monitor go to sleep like it normally would after 10 minutes but they never auto-activate.

I've tried updating drivers, specifically my video card's drivers, I've tried checking the advanced options of power options, I've tried typing in some powercfg command line commands I can't remember the syntax of entirely, I've tried checking the registry, I've tried a lot of things. Are there any ideas anyone has?

As silently as the problem came, it went away for no apparent reason as well. I guess problem solved.
