Can't set Flash Player for auto/started

I've been wondering why Flash Player has been disappearing lately although I'm signed up for automatic updates. I've had to download the recent version several times. So I checked services.exe and msconfig (both of which I've always struggled with to understand). Your help would be much appreciated in setting services to automatic/started instead of stopped. ec [hope I'm in the correct forum.]

    Hi:

Not sure what you mean by "disappearing"?

Having said that, I've always had good luck over the years with Adobe Flash Player by doing the following for each new version:

    1. Run the Flash Player Uninstaller Important: be sure browsers are closed before running it
    2. Download the "slim" installers (no bundled crapware) for both ActiveX (IE) and Plug-In (Firefox) versions here: Adobe Flash Player Distribution

I do not auto-update any software (except for anti-virus and anti-malware database updates), but the Flash Player installer setup wizard will give you the option to auto-update, if you wish.

    Hope this helps,

    ellenc,

When you go to Control Panel, Is there an icon there for Flash Player?

If there is, please open the Flash Player Settings Manager...

Does it have an Updates tab?

If so, what is the setting, and what is the ActiveX Version?
