Why wont photoshop 6 or photoshop elements 4 install in win 7, anyone know ?

Because 6 is ancient news. Try installing CS3 or CS4.

Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, 64-bit

It should install on Windows 7 32 bit.

It should not install on Windows 7 64 bit.


Because it has a 16 bit installer program and 16 bit installers will not run on a 64 bit operating system.

If you find a workaround, advise. I use Photoshop 4 successfully on Windows 7 32 bit, but could not get it to install on the 64 bit version.

I think Photoshop through Photoshop 7 used 16 bit installers, so you need to go to the CS series unless you can find a workaround.
