MSSQL server express, cant take ownership of windows/temp

I tried several things, but always get this error, so the install of MS sqlserver express fails.
One suggestion was to change ownership to the name of the person installing the sql express
I did the other changes suggested here.

    https://social.technet.microsoft.com...dts-failed-the

Then this says about taking ownership here, but I will not let me take ownership of windows temp as scott

All I can do is cancel uninstall and maybe try run the install as administrator??

    text output of failure

Also I had over 7gb free space before I attempted to install this twice, I have uninstalled the failed 226mb instance, and now I have only 4gb free space. So is it sucking up invisible space?
And this has taken hours of my time.

It seems to me on every failed server instance install attempt, whatever files it makes are being left behind even though I go to uninstall a program and remover the MS server express. So my hard drive is filling up. Pretty soon I will be out of space.

Then I will be asking how to delete failed server instances.

Looking at space in the middle of this third install attempt, I am now under 3gb free.

I think this is how it is done

Edit, update, this third install also failed even running installer as administrator.

ok, uninstall does ot remove any instances of sqlserver 2104, as the web site mentions, it just uninstalls it and closes.
I have 3 instances which are broke sitting on the drive. And no clue how to get rid of them.

Ok, ran disk analyzer in Ubuntu, and it showed 7 gb of Mysqlserver instances in program data folder-MysqlServer, maybe they were hidden in windows explorer. So I freed over 7gb, so back to square one.

My feeling is I wont be able to install it. MySQL installs and runs dandy. I can run MSDE 2000 in an xp virtual machine to test my app. I have a database app that uses either MySQL or SQLServer.

MS says this is how to resolve, which I did, and still not working. And I can not take ownership windows/temp directory which some says fixed this issue.

solved, Avast! had prevented the install.
So I uninstalled everything to do with sqlsserver from control panel, maybe 15 items.
    Then reinstalled and it ok.

I could net get in config manager, so I had to repair the sqlserver instance MSSQLSERVER4, from the installer I left open.
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Fo...forum=sqltools

They do not make this easy. Even though it was just installed, it was broken until I selected to repair it.

    HaHa, total success for me!
I was able to login to my program I designed, create the database, and now it shows up in the config manager.
I use Myql, I wanted to rexamine sqlserver 2014 to see if it still works, and it does. I had originally programmed this for MSDE 2000.

A couple things, the server name is 'the name of the computer \ the name of the sql server instance'
Then when creating a database, the name of it has to be stored where the instance has it's stored databases, in my case that shows in the directory here in this attached pic.

    Database name is TESTME.
I made this program years ago, and it still works for MS Sqlserver. I have recently made a lot of changes, so since between MS and MySQL exist sql command structure differences, I need to test them to be sure it all works.
