    Installing 32bit programs on x64 Win7

    Hi there,

I have windows 7x64 and want to play games like assasins creed & fallout 3 which runs fine on my machine when I had XP but the problem is when i double click the installer it says windows cannot install 32bit programs.

I have tried to run the installer in XP sp2, sp3 & Vista modes and this doesn't help.

I am using Macbook Pro with 4Gb Ram.

I'm sorry if this is a repost but I searched the forum and didn't find a similar question, if there is one, kindly direct me to the thread.

Thanks in advance for any help.
    Dave

Could be that those programs have 16 bit installer programs. A 64 bit OS isn't likely to run 16 bit installer programs.

I had that trouble with Photoshop 4, an old program. It runs fine on Win 7 32 bit, but will not even install on Win 7 64 bit.

But these games are quiet new? I mean, 16bit sounds kinda 90s and these games are out last year. Will they still be using 16bit installers?

I don't know and know nothing about gaming.

But if they do have 16 bit installers, that would explain it.

My only suggestion it to talk to friends with the same games and see if they can install on 64 bit---or pound on Google. That's how I discovered the problem with Photoshop 4.
