Norton products as well. The 2009 ones do not work well with Windows 7 at all. It's strange because N360 2.0 works with Windows 7, but 3.0 does not. Beware Norton users.

I think you have a problem with your setup.

I have been using Norton 360 V3 on Windows 7 64-bit (beta & RC) for 6 months without any problems at all.

N360V2 was not designed for Windows 7.

Well, Norton products currently work with the 64-bit versions of the W7 RC for some reason. But since I have crappy 32-bit insted they don't work well.

Symantec is releasing a patch soon through live update. Then the 2009 products should work with the RC.

Programs I have found to avoid in Win7 x64 and recommended replacement

    1) AVG anti-virus, There has been some instability in both x86 and x64. Some viruses got through in the last month (Spent 2 days debugging neighbors PC's that were running AVG free, Scans clean on machines running Avast free I definitely have to recommend this one)

    2) NERO anything - This product has been going bloat and slow and overly complicated for some time now. Highly recommend a free product called "CDBurnerXP" outstanding product with an easlily understood interface. Compilations rarely fail for any reason.Good for CD's, DVD's, Data disks, ISO's, and music compilations.

3)Adobe anything - Bloat, slow, task runs in background all the time using up ram when not needed. Better Choice: Fox-it reader and for a small amount $99 foxit writer to replace Acrobat. Fox-it opens pdf files almost instantly and provides the services needed to manipulate the pdf as needed. Just cant alter it with the reader. 30 day trial of writer if wanting to test it before purchasing then $99 for then current versions and minor upgrades).

4)Nvidia graphics driver update 187.50 many bad things and instabilities reported related to this driver especially if your card is a 9800GT. I have found that 182.50 is very stable for a long time and that the new Nvidia driver 190.38 rock on solid with no stability issues after one week.

    thanks bobtran,

just to clarify your post, foxit reader itself is completely free of cost, for however long you want it, and is perfect for viewing and printing all pdf files.

the foxit reader pro pack is the bit that costs - this allows you to edit the pdf file.

for most people, the free foxit reader will suffice.
