i've just installed windows seven and i used auslogics registry defrag with no problems thus far.
    (a) If you've just installed Win 7 - why would you bother? The registry is new. What's the problem?
    (b) why would you bother defragging the registry anyway? The hives sit tight - changes are a minute line of text here and there. Way over-kill
    (c) I have never seen a tiny bit of data or research which indicates a registry defrag serves any purpose whatsoever - neither that it speeds anything up nor that it avoids problems - the best it can do is probably CREATE problems.

Be happy - leave the registry alone!

I'm reporting back about SuperAntiSpyware (if you still need someone to). I recently installed it and have had no issues whatsoever. I'm using the Windows 7 RTM with SuperAntiSpyware version 4.27.1002.

I don't know what the original issues were with the product, but it they seem to have been resolved...or my success with the program is an anomaly.

Up until recently I always used registry cleaners and defraggers (out of old habit I guess) but I got some funny little errors like icons disappearing and such so on my last install I did not use any registry tools and I must admit that it runs smoother.

I agree, until there are any actual errors leave it alone (you'll go blind).

Avoid Secure It Easy v.2.0.3.7 it (potentially) causes BSODs.
Instead install their updated (not yet official?) version v.2.0.3.9 I attached here.

removed - please do not host software here unless you have the *express* consent of the developers. The software is shareware, and I unless they say it is OK to post the software here as a direct download, you really cannot do that - JG.

On my old PC I installed the TuneUp Utilities latest version and just after the install and reboot my computer got screwed. I was able to fix the bootup via the install CD fixing feature, but I got thrown at my desktop at 16 bit colors, no sound and no internet, which I couldn't fix in any way, so I had to make a full re-install. That sucks...

Also I tried an install of VGEE (Vista Game Explorer Editor) yesterday and it screwed up my games explorer real bad. I tried fixing it, but no effect. Do NOT install this thing, unless you want to screw up your gaming centre real bad. I installed VGEE just 'cause some games weren't running from games explorer and wanted to do something about those broken links (shortcuts). I'm also curious why the new game center doesn't seek out installed games by itself, but the exe files of a game force themselves into the explorer. Is that right? Figured it out by deleting the .exe of a game I have and... even though the game remained available in Add/Remove Programs it couldn't be seen in GE...

Well this post got too long and kind of offtopic, but hope I've helped.
    D.W. to the rescue!!!
