    Windows 7 Downloads Link

Now that Digital River is permanently uprooted,
I see now that Microsoft has it's own download link for Windows 7 ISO's, using a product key.

I tried it several times in the past and could not get it to work, even with my MSDN Retail keys. I don't remember what the error messages were now though. Maybe i'll give it another try and see if they fixed it?

    Error

The key you provided is for a product not currently supported by this site or may be invalid. Please try again or visit the Microsoft Support Contact Us page for assistance.

Tried two of my TechNet 7 Professional keys, one was for with SP1 the other without SP1. Both gave me the error I posted above.

Surprise surprise, my Windows 7 OEM (System builder) Home Premium key worked. I was expecting it to be the other way around actually, Retail keys to be good but OEM keys to be rejected? OEM-SLP keys are likely rejected. My OEM key is from a COA sticker.

    Product Confirmation

The product key is eligible for Windows 7 Home Premium SP1

I don't know why they don't make it like the Windows 8 and 10 MCT and ditch the requirement to enter a key. Just let you download without it. You still need one to install anyway, check it then.

I'm pretty sure I tried my OEM key in the past and it didn't work. This last test was the first time I ever got it to work for me.

Yeah, they did change something because it wouldn't accept it before for me either.
