skype supernode

can anyone tell me how to disable the supernode functionality? skype seems to be eating up over 700meg of ram at points, lve seen reg fixes around but ld rather see if there were others here who have any advice before l go mucking around in the registry :/

Hi timeless,

Yes I can though it will involve going into the registry.... It's the only way I'm afraid.

1) Backup the Registry:
Open Regedit
Right-Mouse click on COMPUTER
Select a location and name for your registry backup file.
Click SAVE.

2) Create a Reg File to turn off Super Node:
Save and run the following text as NoSuperNode.reg - a reboot will be requred.
----------------------------------------------------------- Begin Text ----------------------------------------
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
------------------------------------------------------------ End Text -------------------------------------------
