    File Association

    Hello,
Recently installed some simple graphic viewer/editor. After installation some image file types open with the program and some not. So opened the "set associations" tool, selected the file type (extention), some programs were on the default list, only the installed was not. So I clicked on "change" and browsed to the program's folder and the .exe file and nothing happened. Made this attempt several times and still nothing changed. In the context menu there is an "open with..." with this program, but when I select it, it opens in the Windows viewer. The same when double-clicking on the file.
To be more specific, the program is "ACDSee" and file type ".jpg or jpeg".
    Appreciate some help.
    Thanks

What happened when you tried, or, have you not yet tried:
Control Panel --> Default Programs --> Associate a file type or protocol with a program

Default Programs - Associate a File Type or Protocol

    Hello RolandJS,
    Thanks for the answer.
Well, nothing happened, I tried one way then the other, still double-click on a jpg file opens the windows viewer, even in context menu the "open with..." says "Acdsee". I even restarted when doing these experiments, still the same.
    Thanks.
