    best uninstallers

    hi guys,

what uninstallers are you guys using for best results, i am using IObit uninstaller, i did uninstall a HP Deskjet printer using IObit, but when i used windows search looking for HP Deskjet, there are files still on the laptop something to do with HP Deskjet, are there uninstallers that would uninstall every thing to do with HP Deskjet ????

    thanks for your time,

You should uninstall any software from IObit. It does not have a good reputation.

The normal uninstall process for HP printer software should work. Any items left behind should not cause problems.

That said, someone will stop by your thread and post info on the uninstaller that they use.

In my experience, the uninstaller is the only piece of software that IObit got right. Who's to know though, how future updates may drag it down to the barely-better-than-malware status of the rest of their software. In the cases that the normal uninstall process does not work, I use Revo Pro.

    RE: IObit Unistaller.

See Post #2 in this thread:

    Other uninstallers are also mentioned.

Generally speaking the best uninstallers are those that make a kind of "snapshot" of your system b4 and after you've installed the software and let it run or open just once. There are the uninstallers from Ashampoo (the latest one v6) and Revo, if you use the snapshot availability in the Pro version (I think they call it the monitored installation way). As far as I know IObit doesn't make snapshots, but it's a good uninstaller anyway.

I've been using Ashampoo for some 10 years and believe me it's even that good that it allows you to reinstall a trial version of a software, which in fact is the best test, but not the purpose of a good uninstaller of course.

Only if you use the traced program module of Revo. Otherwise it's just another uninstaller like f.e. IObit. Programs like Ashampoo Uninstaller always automatically choose this tracing while installing a program. Very big difference I guess.
