Windows 7 64 bit Professional

Is this some sort of music file? It may have been created with Magix Music Studio or something similar, so you may need that program to open it.

Win 7 Home Premium 64bit

Yes, I noticed that but this is a text file from an application.
I was just being a bit careful about downloading dodgy stuff to read it.

Windows 7 Professional x64, Arch Linux

Give the file to someone running Linux and have them run 'file <filename>'. It reads and decodes parts of the to determine filetype, regardless of extension. This is one of the biggest things I miss in Windows (there are of course Windows tools that do the same - see here & here - I'm talking native functionality).

Otherwise just try opening it with notepad and/or wordpad. That's completely safe AFAIK.

Edit: just noticed this!
