Newbie here, old and computer illiterate, so please bear with me. TweakBit keeps popping up on my monitor. Malwarebytes. removes it ever night, it returns every day. Cannot uninstall it because it was never installed. I don't know how it got in my pc. Please advise what I should do. Thanks
Try this:
Check Scheduled Tasks for tasks named "AutoScan" and "AutoStart" that were created by the program and disable them. Reboot.
Tip
For an easy way to check scheduled tasks use this: TaskSchedulerView (Major Geeks download page)
You need the 32bit version.
Save the downloaded file to your desktop.
Right click the file you downloaded and extract the files into another folder (unzip it)
Open the TaskSchedulerView folder and right click the executable and choose "Run As Administrator"
You see a list of scheduled tasks that you can sort by name by double clicking the "Task Name" column.
Scroll down to "AutoScan" and "AutoStart" and right click each of them and you see the option to disable. Disable both then exit the program and reboot.
Then try this:
Start> Run then type:
"C:\Program Files\TweakBit\FixMyPC\unins000.exe" /compability
Press Enter.
The program should uninstall.
