Try downloading it manually from this link http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flas..._player_ax.exe

Still didn't work. Basically every site I go on it says 'Install missing plugins' and when I click to install Adobe Flash it says it failed. Even after running the manual download.

Have you tried running it as admin? I installed it the other day, and when I ran it normally, I got the UAC prompt and it installed, but the plugin wasn't installed in IE. I had to right click on the installer and run it as admin manually with IE closed and it installed the plugin.

Still didn't work. But I want to install it in Firefox. Would that be different?

Fixed it. I ended up just downloading a ZIP version of it and that worked. I don't know why the version Everlong gave me didn't work.

Well, I downloaded the 10.1 version and the direct-x support for it directly off Adobe's flash website, and it installed successfully, it says, but I still can't view flash files on my computer in any fashion.

Yeah. Make sure that when you install it, no program that runs Adobe Flash is running. I recommend...

    1. First, uninstall Adobe Flash using the uninstaller (Once again, make sure you aren't running any programs that are using Adobe Flash. This will cause it to not be fully removed, and thus screw up the installation) from here: How to uninstall the Adobe Flash Player plug-in and ActiveX control
    2. Reboot after uninstallation
    3. Try re-installing Adobe Flash again.

See if that works. If not, I did this process over again but with a ZIP file download of Adobe Flash and that worked. I would send you the link but I can't find it. I was searching through the help files on Adobe's website and randomly stumbled upon it.
