    Adobe Acrobat Reader v11.0.17.9 suddenly disabled by FF browser. Why?


    Good morning everyone,

    When I turned-on my computer this morning around 12:15 a.m. (US EST) and opened my FF browser, there was a message displayed that FF has disabled the Adobe Acrobat Reader plugin. Upon checking the Addons listing (Plugins), it says, "Adobe Acrobat is known to be vulnerable and should be updated". When I click on the [UPDATE NOW] button shown, it takes me to another page which says:
    Adobe Reader 10.1.6 to 15.016.20045 has been blocked for your protection.


    When I click on the "plugin check page" link, it displays a page that shows the Adobe icon and the current version number (11.0.17.9) I mentioned above. If I click on the "Update Now" button shown to the right, all it does is take me back to the "plugin check page" again.

    I already HAD the latest version (i.e., v11.0.17.9 in FF). The Adobe Reader version shown in Control Panel > Programs and Features is the same, v11.0.17. They were updated from within the Adobe Reader program itself & FF on July 13th. I've run scans with ESET, MBAM, and SAS - NO issues found.

    **I've posted an inquiry in the Mozilla Firefox Forums earlier as well. Don't know if any help will be forthcoming from there though.

    My question: Can someone please explain what has happened and how to resolve this issue?

    [SIDENOTE]: At this same time, I noticed FF has disabled my LastPass extension (which was the latest - version 4 something)...supposedly because it is not 'signed'. Don't know if these two events are related, but figured I'd mention it anyway. (Somehow, I managed to install the old version of LastPass, v3.3.1 which is working......for the moment).

    [Update @0940 HRS]: I've received one response to my inquiry in the Mozillazine Forum, suggesting I switch to using the Foxit reader. I've received a 'questionable' response from the LastPass Support staff. They gave me a link to re-install LP version 4.1.20a. I'd plainly told them that version (FF Extension) WAS the one already in use when this mess occurred in the first place, because FF says it was not signed!
    LP version 3.3.1 is the last version shown available at the Firefox Addons page, however???

    However, no one seems to know why FF has suddenly disabled the current version of Adobe Acrobat Reader plugin, stating it is vulnerable, and to update it. Yet, there IS NO UPDATE!

    Greetings again,

    Just a final update on the issues reported in my OP above.
    It appears that Mozilla has fixed the issues with the and LastPass Addons. Both plugins are apparently working again and no warnings are seen either.
