How did you try to uninstall? By Control panel ?
go to where the program is installed (C:\Program Files (x86) or C:\Program Files) and look for a unixxxx.exe. that is the uninstall.
If it doesn't work reinstall the program and then uninstall by Control panel.

    Thanks .
I was trying to uninstall via control panel . It will not allow me to install the new one until the old one is uninstalled .
Sorry I don't understand your advice on how to get it uninstalled. Sounds like something beyond my computing skills .
I don't know how to get into C program files that you suggest .

    EDIT

I got into C programs (X86) but there is no mention of it in there .
When I try to uninstall via control panel it says it is trying to use a network that is unavailable .

    Welcome to the forums Willyoy!

Have you tried using Revo Uninstaller? Its free and works much better than Windows built in uninstaller. You could also try looking for a solution on Sony's site. Here's one I found ..... have you tried it?

Thanks for your efforts to help. I have tried for many months to uninstall it . I don't know what they mean by

For example you can check in the processes tab for the "PMB Voulme Watcher" and terminate this tool which is installed by Picture Motion Browser / Play Memories.

OK , I got into task manager and carefully went down the long list and PMB Volume Watcher is not in there .
It is a shame Sony makes things so difficult . I loved that program but when they updated it I could no longer use it without uninstalling the old one . I have one of their camcorders and that software used to work so nicely with it .

I have now found a long list under uninstall memorieshome-Sony_files .
Don't know what to do in there because there are so many but right at the bottom is a large 2174 KB one called Sony coreskin7264debc.
Should I go ahead and right click and delete that one ?
I sure don't want to do something wrong and mess up my PC .

Willyoy. Don't go randomly deleting files, unless you know exactly what they are needed for.

To uninstall Play Memories Home read through & follow the directions from the Sony website. Please note that Play Memories must not be running, otherwise it will not uninstall.

Thanks to all who offered help on this .
There is nothing on the Sony Support site that helps at all to solve the problem .

I will be sure to never buy another Sony product and put out the alert to anyone else contemplating purchasing anything with the Sony name on it . No company should put their customers through weeks of unsuccessfully uninstalling their program simply because they updated to a newer version .

When you attempt to uninstall it via Control Panel, Programs & Features, do you get any message saying you can't uninstall it & a reason why not.

Are you the Administrator of the computer, or are you logged on only as a User?. If you are only a User then you probably don't have software removal rights.

I can understand your anger & frustration with Sony, but it's unlikely Sony are the problem here & it's more likely something related to your computer.
