Help needed in establishing program - file associations

    You are a genius Callender , thank you. Win7Fix.reg has corrected the problem just fine. I hope you didn't have to dream up all that code, working with bits is a royal pain. I am guessing that there were some errors in the registry keys for windows explorer.

    I can't take credit for it. Some research suggested it might fix things. I read that use of registry cleaners in auto clean mode can cause the problem. I don't know if you used a registry cleaner or maybe uninstalled some software where the uninstaller was faulty but if using registry cleaners it's always best to backup first then manually select items for removal.

    Thank you Callender, you are a genius. The merged keys worked perfectly. I hope you didn't have to write those, working with bits is a royal pain. I am guessing is was a matter of tweeking the behaviour of windows explorer.
