"there is a problem with one or more of your windows essentials progra

I go into the Programs and Features to add a new Windows Essentials program but every time I open the Windows Essentials installer, I get the following error message:

"There is a problem with one or more of your windows essentials programs. To fix it uninstall Windows Essentials."

Problem is, there isn't a problem at all. The only one I currently have is Windows Movie Maker and it runs flawlessly. There is no option to skip or to dismiss the error message. No "x" to close the box, The only thing I can do is uninstall Windows Essentials hence losing the Windows movie Maker.

Does anybody know what the problem could be and how do I fix it?

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit sp1

What version of Windows Essentials do you have installed?. The current version is Windows Essentials 2012.

If you want some other WE programs it looks like you will have to uninstall your current WE installation & download Windows Movie Maker again & any other WE programs you want & install them.

To find Microsoft Windows Essentials 2012 in the US just type that in your browser search box & follow the directions.

OEM Windows 7 Ult (x64) SP1

Is this the same computer here, by any chance?

"you need permission from the computer's administrator to make changes to this f - Windows 7

If so, the problems may or may not be related.
But working on them simultaneously in different venues might be confusing, inefficient or even counter-productive.
It might be better to focus on one problem at a time.

Just a friendly thought,
