    paltalk issues

Hello all. This afternoon I got a message saying that Paltalk failed due to corruption and error number tc-5901-2 and I had to reinstall the Paltalk software. After reinstalling, the programme ran for an hour so without problems but, when I opened Paltalk again this evening, I got an identical message and error code tc-5901-2. Is this something to do with Windows 7? Can anyone help please?

    Hi marathon1,

Julia here from Team Paltalk! You MAY have a corrupt installation. To correct the problem you need to completely uninstall Paltalk along with your saved account information, then reinstall. Write down all of your nicknames and passwords because you will need to manually re-enter them to log in.

What you want to do is close Paltalk, uninstall Paltalk, reboot your machine, then download, save, and re-install Paltalk. This should make sure that all parts of Paltalk are no longer running or installed on your PC. This will give you a brand new, fresh installation and you should be just fine after that. Remember, you have to write down your nicknames and passwords.

    1. Close Paltalk.
    2. Uninstall paltalk by following instructions in this help center article. Be sure you remove your personal information during the uninstall according to instructions.
Uninstall Paltalk from a PC – Paltalk Support
    3. Once you have uninstalled Paltalk, restart your PC. This makes 100% sure that no part of Paltalk is left running.
    4. Once you have restarted your PC, go to Paltalk.com and download, and save the Paltalk installation file.
    5. We suggest that you download and save the installer. Then right click on the installer and select 'Run as administrator'. Paltalk will install and you will be asked to create a new account or log in on an existing account. You can log in on one of your existing accounts from here.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any further questions. If this full instruction set does not help, or for more info and 24/7 assistance, visit our Support Desk: Paltalk Support

    Best,
    Julia

Hello Julia. Thank you for your reply. The problem seems to have disappeared by itself! Apart from the actions described in my first posting, I have done nothing except run a malware scan using Malwarebytes and a virus check with MSE, the results of which were negative. So the whole thing is very mysterious! However, in case of a repeat, I will treasure your response - many thanks, once again.
