Have a sailing simulator game on win7.
User can create his own course for racing/sailing.
I need to find a course file and save it as my cdrive is sick.
All I recall is one went into something like users/sail Sim / current data...... or something vaguely like that.
Give me a nudge along - where do i go to look plz?
If the developer has followed "the Rules" [unfortunately a lot of developers do not, which leads to the fact that programs cease to work after OS updates], the files you are looking for should be in Username\appdata\sail sim\... where username is your login name
The issue with this is that Microsoft Hides the Appdata folder to prevent "accidental" modifications. If you set the file manager to "show hidden files" and also uncheck the "hide operating system files" option you should be good to go.
There is also a chance that they may be in a program specific, possibly hidden folder, somewhere under the programdata hidden folder sometimes there is a .ini file that has the locations listed (these are throwbacks to the old XP and 9.x era but developers often stick to what they know
