Music Production Software Crashes After Launch

I use a program called Cubase, which I have used for years. Lately I have been working on a project which has behaved nicely, but now all of the sudden, this project crashes after a few seconds after launch. The error message reads:

I use Sonar Platinum.

Here is a solution (marked as solution) on the Micrcsoft forum as a fix for c000005 application error.
