What free or affordable video editing software are you using?

Hey guys,
I'm doing a research and was hoping you could help me with it. I'm trying to find out what the most popular free or affordable (under $50) video editing software is. Windows OS, of course.
Please write in comments what program you are using or used in the past and were happy with.

Thank you in advance!

On my list already. Thank you!
I'm slightly confused about the free version export options though. Does it allow you to save the exported video to your desktop, or it only allows you to download it directly to YouTube/Vimeo?

I use Videopad Video Editor (Video Editing Software. Download Free Video Movie Editor). Best Ive seen for inexpensive editors. I use it for gaming videos.

+1 for VideoPad.

I don't think the new versions are free anymore, though. I think they're on v5 now, but I still use v4.0, which was completely free for non-commercial use. When I tested v4.4 it had become a time-limited trial version.

You can still get the older versions at filehippo.

As I am continuing to explore video editing software options, here are the ones that caught my attention so far:

1. Lightworks free version. Trimming is excellent, even the best. The rest is not too intuitive.
2. Videopad free version. Quite intuitive clean interface and timeline. Haven't figured out the difference between paid and free versions - the website info is unclear about it.
3. VSDC free video editor. Less intuitive than Videopad, but more feature-rich, faster and great choice of export options.
4. Shotcut. Fantastic interface, very stylish and simple. Would recommend as a next step after MM.

I've quickly checked Avidemux as well, but unlike others it seems to be capable of linear editing only. Besides, interface was really confusing.

I wish I could create a poll here to ask you guys to participate and vote for your favorite tool, but I don't find such option. So please, if there is any other tool you'd recommend - jump in.

What do you guys recommend for a free photo editing software package. I dont need a power house package just something to enhance, crop and re-size photos. I am looking at PhotoScape. It gets good review. Thanks
