Windows 7 64 bits Professional
"Wait while Windows configures status" message

Last week I connected a different computer to my HP Photosmart C6180 All-in-one printer (bought in 2006) and, when switching on the PC, I got a nasty pop-up window containing the message above (Please wait while Windows.....) during 1 to 2 minutes.

This PC runs Windows 7-64 bits Professional. The previous one started in 2014 with the same Windows version but I moved it (not intentially !) last year to Windows 10. I had no problem previously whatever with Windows 7 or 10 and never got this pop-up window before. The printer all-in-one software package (AIO_CDA_FSW_Full_win_WW_130_140.exe) installed last week is exactly the same as the one installed in 2014 on the previous PC.

Looking at various forums, I launched "msconfig" and unchecked "HP Digital Imaging" in the list of the processes starting with Windows. Now the popping window appears only when (and if) I launch "HP Solution center", which means concretely when I scan documents. Printing doesn't encounter the problem. Anyway, this confirms that the problem is linked with the printer software package.

I have therefore started a thread on the US HP forum, but didn't get any acceptable and efficient reply, since the "HP solution center" is no longer supported by HP, as I have been told.

I understand that the same message has been encountered by other users with other softwares, so that I hope I can get some useful suggestions from the Windows 7.

Thanks for your help
