Cannot install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable

    Hi all,

i am trying to install a program which at some point it stops with the below message:

Setup did not complete. The error is :
Package 'Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable' could not be installed.Error number:1625

Since i am not lazy (or so i think) i searched around internet and tried various suggested things but in vain.
So i decided to post here which i hope there is enough expertise to help me resolve the problem as it has helped me in the past.

    Where i stand now :
It seems that this error has to do something with policies (which i have zero idea of). Meanwhile ,while i was testing various stuff as i said ,i have uninstalled all versions of Visual C++ which now seems that was not the problem

I really do not know what to do so if there is any good people who can give me a heads up i would be much obliged.

Thank you for your time reading this and excuse my lame English.

    Regards,
    the_observer.

    Hi

ReDistributable installs are only required when requested to be used by another program
So what have you just installed, and did you download it, (the redistributable) from MS

However that does not explain the error code,

I would suggest you run your AV and Malwarebytes free

I do not exactly understand what you mean but after i retsarted my pc without any Visual C++ installed i got a notification from windows 7 which wanted to update and add some visual C++ versions.I then tried to install the program (which btw is SDL Trados Studio 2017) but i get the exact same error.

The previous week i had a full AV scan of my pc ,no problem reported (Bitdefender). I will do a scan with malwarebytes too just in case .

Thank you both for your responses.

Also to let you know that i try this solution which seems similar to my problem.

    Hi Stephen,

The error code relates to a permissions problem.

It could/may be caused by the activation exploit on your system
Desktop with a Notebook OEM SLIC activation set-up.

This forum's Rules clearly state that help will not be provided to those using Non genuine Software.

    Rule 4
No piracy or discussion of piracy allowed at all. Such as software, music, videos and other intellectual property violations (e.g. downloading youtube videos locally etc) - it is forum policy that no help shall be given to people who knowingly steal software or services.

One of the main reasons for this is that the act of pirating software will inevitably change the working of software and make investigation and repair impossible. Please install a legitimate copy of the software and if you are still experiencing the issue we will be pleased to assist - No further assistance will be provided until we are satisfied that the software is genuine.

This forum is very useful to me and following the rules is the least i can do.

I am sorry i have violated one and it was not on purpose.I simply cannot cope up / remember the rules of every forum (although i often read them once).

Thank you for the heads up and keep up the good work.

    Regards.

P.S Of course, this thread can be deleted if necessary.
