MalwareBytes Takes a long time to do a Quick Scan

Not quick in my opinion. Admittedly I have a very old version (1.75.0.1300), but that is the last version that worked on my system (Windows 7 - 64 bit; subsequent versions would freeze).

It used to take only a few minutes to do a quick scan (which I do once a week), but lately it has kept increasing until now it takes almost 20 minutes to scan about 22000 file system objects.

    Is this normal?

    Seems Excessive

    It seems excessive to me.
Maybe your install has been corrupted.

    I'm using MBAM Free v3.
    Note:
    I have an SSD.

    Here are my results:

Initially I had problems with MBAM Free v3, but they eventually fixed whatever was responsible.
I used the MBAM Uninstall tool and then reinstalled MBAM.

    Hi

Whats more important is why you cant update MWB, im running V3 as well.
    Do as Letherus did uninstall/reinstall.

On a further note your running Ultimate x64 but with the minimum RAM, and ddr2 is old
I cant understand why the refurber didnt install 32bit W7, did he supply back-up discs.

Do all your other programs work OK?

I can't answer for the company that I bought the refurb from. I got what I got with it for $425 six years ago. I had brought in my old system running Windows XP and they said they couldn't fix it, but they had several "used" units for sale. I can only speculate that they wiped the drive of an old computer, left the old hardware in it and installed Windows 7.

As far as other programs -they seem to work okay. The quick scan with MSE takes a little over 2 minutes. The MBAM seems to get "hung up" on certain files.
