How do I stop getting this warning in Real Player: rpsystray has stopped working?

You could try using an older version (assuming you are using the latest available), this can often cure issues.

You could also try an alternative player as there are quite a few bad reports about Real Player's security

If you have a back calalogue of media in Real Player's own format there are codecs available Real Alternative 2.0.2 Free Download.

does the warning prevent the player from operating normal? if not, ignore it.

As this appears to be just the system tray app for real player, You could consider not loading it - Open MSconfig and check the Start Tab, disable he entry for the app load at start-up.

Obviously if it is essential to the use of RP then you have to keep it, but these type of icon in the tray mostly just take up space and resources
