Will I be able to use Windows 10 on my computers?

Hello. I am having trouble understanding when Windows 7 Ultimate updates will end, when sales of Windows 10 will end, and whether or not I would be able to install Windows 10 on my computers. (And I still don't understand when it is and is not necessary to write or not after writing whether.)

I use Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit on my youngest desktop PC and Windows 7 Home Premium on my older desktop PC as listed in my system specs descriptions. These are the only two computers I am asking these questions in reference to.

This page List of Microsoft Windows versions - Wikipedia says extended support for Windows 7 Home users ends January 2020 and extended support for Windows 7 Professional and Enterprise users ends January 2023, but it doesn't mention when extended support ends for Windows 7 Ultimate users.

This page Access Denied says Windows 76 extended support ends January 2020 without mentioning any difference in extended support for Windows 7 Professional or Enterprise users.

Does extended support mean you keep getting the security updates? That is my understanding, but reading this page Access Denied doesn't really help me think I know for sure.

I would like to continue using Windows 7 for as long as I can. I feel uncertain about how long that will be because that one web page mentions two different dates for the end of extended support for Windows 7, but it doesn't mention Windows 7 Ultimate.

I could handle purchasing Windows 10 to use for only three years if that is what I am looking at doing (and retiring the older PC to replace it with a new PC. I need to have two working and connected to the Internet so I can use one to look for help and order parts when either one breaks down.) Would either of my desktop computers that have Windows 7 installed be able to install (run, whatever) Windows 10? If not, are there parts, such as the CPU for example, that I could replace and then be able to use Windows 10 on my PC that has Windows 7 Ultimate installed? For how long will Windows 10 still be for sale?

There will be ways of keeping win 7 running securely for quite a while after the official end of support

If you want to move to win 10, you can still use the free downgrade to win 10 option - there is no need to purchase addititonal license.

Unless your machines are very ancient, they will almost certainly be capable of running either win7 or win10. Your ASUS P8Z77-V PRO and 3rd gen cpu will be fine.That is a socket 1155 motherboard. I have a much earlier socket 775 machine which can run both win7 and win 10 ok.

Your Asus is good mobo, which has sata3 , usb3 and pcie(3) and the i5 3570 is a good quad core - it holds it's own against much more recent skylake and kaby lake quad cores such as the i5 6400 and i5 7400 cpus.

There is no need to upgrade your hardware (unless you are desperate for 6 or 8 cores, which most people aren't).

The Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge processor is one of Intel's best performers to date. In terms of real world performance this processor offers far more than most users are likely to ever need. Scoring 2012 points on the PassMark Single Thread benchmark, the 3570K is within a few percent of the fastest processors currently available and at 77 watts TDP it's no energy hog either.
