Looking for something that does this (inside)

    Hey guys...

I am looking for some means to automatically create shortcuts to every .exe (it would be a plus to be able to choose the extension) that exists in a folder and it's subfolders. Placing all of them in a folder of my choosing would be nice.

    Thanks.

You can select all .exe files in a directory,. and choose Send To > Desktop as shortcut.

Probably not what you;re looking for

I'd love to find one of those programs. i have 3 directories of stand alone applications that I have ti create each on individually.

It would be way to much work to go through every subfolder in my case.

Are these all stand alone executables?

Yep. The folder structure is something like:

    Main_Folder
    Sub_Folder1 (contains exe)
    .
    .
    .
    Sub_Folder99 (contains exe)

No offense, but why would you setup a directory structure like that?

I have a Folder called Utilities. Under this I have sub-folders that contain different utilities. There are also other files in each sub folder besides the exe. Many have the same name like readme.txt. So I can't put them all in one folder.

Now I'd like to point to Utilities and tell the program or whatever to find all the exe's, create shortcuts to them, and place them in another folder.

This way I can execute all these programs from one folder which I use with a Program Launcher. This Launcher is the main reason I want to do this. A menu of all these shortcuts will be produced by the launcher.

I just click once o the name of the executable until it's highlighted and choose copy. then i click in the readme.txt, highlight it and choose paste.

Now you can have them all in the same directory.

I do this with all my Nirsoft utilities.

BTW,. do you really read those readme.txt files?

Just had a brainstorm. I did this

Windows Search for *.EXE in the top directory. When done, press Control+A (select all), then right click Send to Desktop as Shortcut. Then moved all the shortcuts to a new folder.
