    Free 3D Virtual Desktop App

Here's a little 3D virtual desktop program I found. It is buggy in some aspects, I will list some things I've found.

    exe. or zip
Right Click and go to properties and Unblock
    Install/run in Vista compatibility mode
    Run as administrator

Any desktop beside the main #1, the start orb will be squished and won't glow
It won't be squished if you don't have the taskbar set to it's lowest level
It has it's own gadget but when you install it, it won't be fully on the screen until you lift the taskbar up one level and let it go, you can reset it back down after that
You can launch it from the system tray icon or the gadget
You can have it start at startup
I wouldn't change or mess with any of the options under the wallpaper tab
If you globalize Windows Explorer, when you shut down it will close Explorer 4 times LOL
After you launch it, you can turn it side to side with your mouse
    Has hot keys

Other than the bugs it works pretty good
If you want to try it out, but like I said, it has bugs

Seems to work a little better in Vista

    Has 4 desktops

5 screen effects that can be changed
    Cube
    Inside
    Grid
    Flip
    Wave Cube
    Has a few different backgrounds

Looks good, unlike the screenshot of it

    Thanks Airbot!

I've been testing several 3d virtual desktops myself and this will go to my tests to-do list in the next few hours

I've been pretty impressed with Deskspace 3D Virtual Desktop on Windows 7 though this one is paid and am still debating with myself if its worth the money :) Previous builds from them worked wonderfully in Vista and used it when running multiple game clients and handled it pretty well.

For now, I've settled in using Vista/XP Virtual Desktops though I haven't gotten around to testing it with the game clients I usually play with but for now, I can say, it gets the job done though not as classy as the others :)

Will post back after my test runs with Shock

Well, I tested a lot too and this one seems to work the best that I've found for free.

Tested it. Verified the bugs you mentioned. It would've been nice to be able to change the desktop backgrounds but hey, it's like a lightning app compared to Deskspace 3D Virtual Desktop.

Over-all, I like it. It's a very responsive for a virtual 3D desktop app. Very nice. I hope we see future builds that allows us to do more customizations as well as more hot key functions.

    Dumped Vista/XP Virtual Desktop.

    thanks for this post

I've tied many virtual Desktop with Vista but none work as I expected.

I've just tru the shock utility, but I do not really like the way it works.

After that I mad a try with Vista/XP Virtual Desktop.
I do prefer this one. In fact it's able to work on the screen i select and do not apply virtual desktop on the other screen (I use a dual-screen, which is never well used by virtaul desktop software under windows).

Other think: It use the WDM of Vista/seven, not the OpenGL. So the desktop preview have better render..

I will try it for few day and see if I can keep it

Thanks for this suggestion. It works fine for me. It's the best I've found for free so far. There's also a similar app, called Real Desktop 3D, but for the best version, you must pay. Thanks anyway for this one...
