    Hyperterminal problem


    Good day to all.

    I need assistance in regards to a problem on Lenovo x64 laptop with Windows 7 installed. I have installed the Hyperterminal program, but getting this message when trying set it up "Unable to open COM1. Please check your port settings".

    I have disabled and even uninstalled the driver without any success.

    Reason:
    I have trying to install software on a EPEC module via a serial port as this is still a old machine using this module.

    I know that there are usb to serial adapters available, but how do I configure Hyperterminal to get results?

    Your assistance will be highly appreciated.

    Hello kustoM, is this Hyperterminal tutorial any use to you

    It suggests that the issue might be 1) Conflict with another program 2) User permissions - try logging on as administrator.

Hi, I am using a hyperterminal software called Coolterm. I have used it in the past with success, however now when I run it I get an error "No serial ports found, Your system currently does not have any serial ports. Unless at least one serial port is added, this application will no tbe usable" ....
