What is Blue lite edition?
Seen a laptop advertised that says it has Windows Aero Blue Lite edition. Anyone know exactly what this is and what product key it would have? Thanks.

There have been a lot of "special" editions of Windows used by suppliers to sell their products. I am assuming that this is one of these, but not one I've heard of. Obviously it is not an official Microsoft Windows 7 product as Microsoft withdrew Win7 from sale some years ago, with the EOL approaching.
As for the licence, It could be anything from the many versions that Microsoft produced over the lifetime of Win7, but there is always a chance that the operating system will be unofficial and possibly unlicensed copy of the OS
Sounds like something Kmart would come out with. LOL
To those that don't know what Kmart is. It's a store in the U.S. that's going into decline that sells cheap crap. They are in Australia as well which was surprising to me.
Thanks - it's on that well known auction site. Think I'll give it a miss - already bought one with non official W7 Home premium! Got a partial refund though. If you google "Windows Aero Blue Lite Edition 2016" (which is the advertised name) a lot of entries come up all pretty unheard of and some dodgy looking sites that sound like pcworld but aren't.
I have just Googled this and watched a couple of YouTube videos. It appears that it an un-official version of Windows. I would stay well away from it!
That's what I thought. I wanted the laptop and had planned to reinstall but suspect there won't be a W7 product key. So I'll give it a miss.
This website will supply some more info about it.

Yes that's the site I didn't click on I thought it was meant to make people think it was "PCWorld"
Probably one of those NTLite'd editions that add nothing special except maybe additional driver support,... I'd suggest avoiding it at all costs, whether free or paid, especially with the privacy and security risks that come with it.
If I'm allowed to share it, I can mention the file name and/or SHA1 hash of the official Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 ISO, in a PM in case you want it. You'll have to find the file yourself, though.
