    LogMeIn PITA

Hey guys, recently I was working with a software company that used LogMeIn to do a remote Video chat and presentation with me. It allowed them to show me their software on my screen to walk me through fixing some stuff. To do this I got an email from them with the LogMeIn software link and download. Now that I have it on my pc I would like to keep it in case I need it again. The problem is I don't know how to keep it when it keeps asking me to log in? As far as I can see it's Paid Software so why would I sign in and or create an account? I already Disabled it in Startups, but it is still in the Task Bar with a Bang Mark, and every time I start my pc it comes up with the little box in lower right corner also as you see here.

When I click on that little Icon in the task bar I get the "LogIn Page" in number two pic here. Should I just create an account so that will go away?

You have to be connected to the network, before Logmein starts.

Would that point you in the right direction?

I don't think so. What I want to know is, if I can keep the software on my pc, but not have this stupid Popup telling me to log-in or create an account? I don't see anywhere to change this behaviour other than uninstalling it. Perhaps I will need to dig further once I'm done with what I'm doing atm.

    Thanks.

Yes i did have empathy for your question, and i had rummaged around a bit myself, before replying. If you ever find out what the answer is then do please post the result on this Forum.

    I sure will.

I would just uninstall as I said, but i'm afraid I'll need it again soon. I think it will pay off to learn how to keep it and shut down those darn Popups. I went to their site but did not see anything. I also have never liked this software as I see it so often used by scammers. Which is unfortunate because it seems like good software.

perhaps use AUTORUNS if you find it there just disable the start until you want to use again.

That's what I was thinking Wandering one, but I moved on to get some other stuff done and it's all gone now!

I had a bunch of Windows files that needed to be removed with Disk Cleanup, and also used TFC by Oldtimer.
After doing this the PITA LogMeIn popup don't come up anymore! So I am tickled to death now that it's fixed, even though by accident.

IMO, Team Viewer is a lot better. It's also HIPAA compliant.

You have to buy their service before you will be able to use it again.
