ThrottleStop: a Tip
A while ago, due directly to a lot of help from this Forum, I got my computer motherboard problem ‘fixed’ by running ThrottleStop.
A new problem is that ThrottleStop is ‘time-bombed’ in the sense that when a new version comes out, your installed older version just stops working.
The first time this happened I had to go into Autorun at Startup tasks and redo that so the computer would know where the ‘new’ version is, and update my Desktop links and the like. Kind of a hassle really as I have to re-learn how to do it each time…
So here’s my tip and what I did this time: In the ‘old’ directory, I renamed that ThrottleStop exe (in this case to ‘ThrottleStop.exe-Orig V850’).
I then copied the new .exe to that old directory. Since the file name is the same as the old file name (ThrottleStop.exe) Task manager, links, etc found it without issue. It even worked fine on a reboot test.
Hopefully this will be of help for someone, even if it’s a different program.
