.mp3 files Icon has randomly changed

So recently, and I don't know why. .mp3 icons have changed the icon to a white backdrop with a blue musical note, they used to have the winamp icon, which is an orange lightning bolt on top of a white diamond shape.

They're still associated with Winamp, I tried changing the default to something else, then back to Winamp and it's still showing this other icon for some reason. I haven't changed my Winamp installation or done anything I can think of for this to happen.

Looking on the forums, I tried clearing the thumbnail cache, I tried doing the Icon Rebuild thing, no change.

What could be causing this? And regardless, is there just a way to give certain file extensions custom icons, whether with Windows 7's default things or a third party program? Cause if I just need to manually tell it to use Winamp's icon again that's fine.

It's showing the windows media player icon. It does this on all kinds of files on this system although they open with a different program.

    You might download this-

FileTypesMan - Alternative to 'File Types' manager of Windows

and try it using the instructions here-

I messed with it for a few minutes but didn't have time to really learn how to use it.

inspect the winamp exe and see if it still has original winamp icon.
