Help obtaining a list of programs from wiped laptop

Hello I am hoping this is the correct place and someone can help me. I was having a lot of issues with my laptop and after a month in the shop I finally got it back. the good news the BSOD and blank background are gone however they wiped the entire computer. They only put my personal files but none of my programs back. I had to upload some of my system info on here for the previous issues and was wondering if any of those said what programs I had. The other problem was that they put a new smaller hard drive in because they said my 1tb was encrypted and I never put a passowrd on it. I have the hard drive and am waiting on a enclosure to see if I can even access it, but it wont be here for a few days.

I was using a HP dv6 Windows 7 entertainment pc dv6 but I am temporarily using a windows 10 until I can get the other back up.

thank you for any help in advance

you said they wiped the entire computer. What that usually means is that they wiped your main hard drive, your boot drive. But then you say you have the 1TB drive in your possession which I am assuming is still intact. If that's true, they did not wipe anything. Once you get your enclosure you'll be able to use windows explorer to look at it. Look at the C:\ folder. You might have a couple program folders there (I have lotus), but most of your programs are going to be within the folders ProgramFiles and ProgramFilesx86. To get the programs running you are going to have to reinstall them on the new boot drive, but at least you'll be able to know what they are.

If you download the zip file in this earlier post you made, unzip it, then click on the msinfo file, the msinfo32 program on your new machine will open that file which contains information about your old system. Under software environment > program groups you will see a list of most of your old programs. Use your mouse to widen the columns if needed.

Hi thanks for the fast response. I have the original hard drive but I was told its encrypted somehow so I'm not sure if I will have access to it.

Sorry I had to upload some of my computer details in some of my previous posts and wasnt sure if one of those had a list of my software that I had.

Basically they took and switched my 1tb hard drive with a small one and reloaded ms office 2007 and my personal files. That's it. No personal settings ect

I think you saw my post above before I edited it, and pointed out how you can see your installed programs from the file in your post of a few months ago.
